There is no doubt that during the holiday season tensions can be at an all-time high. That said, it is best to let ‘cooler heads’ prevail when the heat is on because a failure to do so may result in criminal charges being lodged by the government. Case in point, a recent incident in Ohio where an irate customer hurled a chicken burrito bowl at the restaurant manager’s face. The customer was charged, convicted and sentenced for her wayward poor decision. The judge got innovative, however, and sentenced the customer to work at a fast-food job to avoid serving further jail time on the assault charge. The judge stated, “you didn’t get your burrito bowl the way you like it, and this is how you react?” The judge even likened the behavior to one of those Bravo Housewives of [name your city] shows, and indicated the behavior wasn’t acceptable under any circumstance. The incident, as to be expected, went viral. The video showed the customer screaming at the restaurant manager then grabbing the 200-degree food and throwing it directly into her face causing it to be burning red. Originally, the customer was going to be sentenced to 180 days in jail, among other things, but then the court offered her a chance to reduce a good deal of jail time by working, herself, in the fast-food industry. The deal struck was that the defendant would do 20 hours per week at a fast-food restaurant for 2 months. Hopefully, no one chucks food at her face.  Moral of the story?  Be kind to thy neighbor, everyone.
