Stricter Gun Laws?

Oregon voters recently approved one of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. The measure is now being challenged in the federal courts as unconstitutional because it allegedly violates the Second Amendment right to “keep and bear arms“. The lawsuit seeks to prevent the Oregon measure from taking effect at all. That didn’t take long did it?

The measure – as passed – requires residents of Oregon to obtain a permit to purchase a gun, bans large capacity magazines, and creates a statewide firearms database. Seeing as how in-line the State of Washington is with Oregon, both politically and socially, is it a far stretch to see a similar measure passed in Washington? Will the aforementioned federal lawsuit have any impact on future measures. Time will tell, as usual.

A conviction for a firearms offense can negatively impact one’s future and freedom.
